Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe but it is school time again! I am thrilled to have your child in my classroom this year. I have the belief that by working together we will make this a very successful school year. It is very important that you play an active role in your child’s education.

We will be using Eureka Math, a Common Core-aligned curriculum published by the non-profit Great Minds Inc., equates mathematical concepts to stories, with the aim of developing conceptual understanding. Like Common Core, it encourages students to use various mental strategies to solve problems, and to focus on the process instead of the answer.

I invite you to call, email or visit me during my planning period, before or after school if you have a question regarding your child’s progress in my class. I will do my part keeping you informed by sending you some of your child’s classwork and Test results, projects, Mid-Quarter Progress Report and a Report Card at the end of each quarter.

I truly consider it an honor and privilege to be your child’s Math Teacher this year and I look forward to a great year working together with you and your child.
