Royal Knights Robotics

Our State Champion robotics teams are hard at work again this year competing in the VEX IQ competition, Slapshot. The students are building robots to compete in the main tournament and skills challenges. We are hoping to find success at the state championship, and win the chance to compete at the world championship again in 2023.
This year, we have four VEX IQ teams. Three are elementary and the fourth is middle school.
We also have two VEX VRC teams. One is middle and the other is high school.

If you would like to help support our students with the cost of the competition and travel, please see the information below, or click the "Donate" button on the left of the screen.

Royal Live Oaks Academy's Vex Robotics program, Full Metal Robotics, is made up of elementary, middle, and high school teams. This comes to more than 25 team members in grades 3-12! We have competed in regional events, the State Championship, the US Open Championship, and the World Championship.
The past six seasons have been a huge success, which included some of the following accomplishments:

• 2x World Championship and 2x U.S. Open Qualifier
• 2x State Championship Judges Award winner
• State Championship Create Award Winner
• #4 ranked Middle School Robot Skills team in South Carolina
• State Championship Robot Skills and Programming Runner-Up (‘15-‘16)
• 5x Robot Skills Champion
• 3x Excellence Award Winner
• 2x Programming Skills Champion
• 4x Design Award Winner
• Amaze Award Winner

Typically, our teams meet twice each week, from 3:15-5:00pm. Changes to the schedule may become necessary as the season goes on. Competitions are held on certain Saturdays between October and February, with the State Championships taking place in March. If we qualify, we may even go to the World Championship, which is held in May.
The elementary team is for students in grades 3-5. They will meet Monday and Wednesday from 3:15-5:00pm. The middle school team is for students in grades 6-8, and the high school teams are for grades 9-12. They will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15-5:00pm. There will be some extended days on certain Fridays each month where all teams will meet together from 1pm-4pm.
We are always looking for new sponsors to help our teams with travel and competition expenses. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or making a tax-deductible donation to our team, please contact Ms. Moore.
