About Me

The 2016-2017 school year marks my 12th year as an educator in South Carolina.  This school year will be my fourth year at Royal Live Oaks Academy as the Assistant Principal of Instruction for grades K-5.  I am very excited to work with such a great staff, unique group of students, supportive parents and caring community.

I was born and raised in Ridgeland, South Carolina and received my formal education from Jasper County High School. After leaving JCHS, I attended Morris College, Sumter, SC (BS in Early Childhood) and Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ (Masters in Education Administration and Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership).

As a native of Jasper County, I felt only right to begin my professional teaching career at home, thus beginning my first official teaching position as Head-Start Teacher, and then transitioning to a 2nd grade teacher.  I have held positions to include working as a teacher for 3 year olds with Beaufort-Jasper Head Start, a teacher for grades Kindergarten-3rd grade in Jasper County Schools, a SC Certified Child Care Trainer, and an Instructional Coach for Jasper County Schools.

When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my two sons and my family. My many passions consist of reading, singing, community service, and learning about current trends in education and the world.

My goal for RLOA is to help ensure students are provided dynamic experiences to demonstrate personal, social, emotional and academic growth and success.

I feel honored to be the Assistant Principal at Royal Live Oaks Academy.  I look forward to all of the new challenges we will face together and to all the successes we will achieve together.  I invite you to contact me with any questions or concerns anytime @ (843)784-2630 ext. 105 or by email at laquandra.stevenson@rloacs.org .
