Background Information of Candidates

Dr. Harry (Rob) McBrayer is a licensed veterinarian with a veterinary practice in Ridgeland.the current Board Chair. Dr. McBrayer has served on the Board since RLOA’s inception in 2012. He has been a major supporter of our school in the Jasper County community and has provided valuable leadership of the Board. He has championed educational opportunities for students throughout his life and is an asset to RLOA. Dr. McBrayer and his late wife Ruth have financially supported our robotics program and other educational programs.

Lyn Boyles is the RLOA Board Treasurer and serves as the Executive Director of Keep Jasper County Beautiful and the Blue Heron Nature Center. She is also a Board member of Jasper County Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Boyles has participated in many RLOA events and has supported our school in the Jasper County community for many years. She has championed education in Jasper County for many years and is an asset to our community.

Dr. Amlet Alston is a guidance counselor in Richland County who brings many years of experience in education to the RLOA Board. She and her mother Thelma Alston before her, have served our school well. Dr. Alston’s son attended our school and she has been actively involved in improving the educational opportunities RLOA provides. She is invaluable to RLOA.
