Welcome to Ms. Serrani's Class!

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Alyssa Serrani, and I am an English Language Arts Teacher for 7th and 8th grade. This will be my first year as a Royal Knight and my second as an English teacher.

I previously taught in Charlotte, NC where I was born and raised. Though I am relatively new to education as a profession, I have tutored ELL students from multiple linguistic backgrounds for over four years. Additionally, I have five years’ experience as a professional freelance writer and editor and have seen the practical, real-world applications of studying English. Furthermore, I received my B.A. in English from Gardner-Webb University and my M.A. in Technical Writing from Liberty University. My Master’s thesis was on teaching professional writers how to create content with ELLs (English Language Learners) and MLLs (Multi Language Learners) in mind.

When I’m not working, chances are I am still reading and writing. If not, you’ll find me singing, cooking, spending time with loved ones, or exploring new places.

It is my goal to not only help my students become the best readers and writers they can be, but to help them retain that information and to inspire a lifelong love of learning. I look forward to working with you and seeing what this school year has in store!
