Introduction

Good Day....
I am Brian Morse and I serve as the Chief of Staff here at Royal Live Oaks.  I have been in education for over 30 years now.  My first 27 years were spent teaching English to middle and high school students.  This is my ninth year with Royal Live Oaks.  I am proud to be part of the Royal Knights family.

I started my education in Western New York in a small town.  I went to the same school all throughout my kindergarten to twelfth grade years.  I understand the value of small schools.  Those experiences helped build my philosophy of education.  I then attended the State University of New York University of Buffalo before finishing up my undergraduate work at Elmira College.  I later went on to receive my Master's Degree from The University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.

Throughout these experiences I have learned three important lessons.
The first is we teach children.  I know that sounds obvious, but it is important to remember.  I taught English Language Arts skills, but I taught them to students.  The students were the important part.   The person who cares more about the subject matter than the learner is missing the point.
Second is it's ok to fail.  We have all failed at something somewhere at some time.  When we first learned to walk, we all fell before we were successful.  But we didn't give up.  We tried again, and probably fell, but tried again.
Lastly, and probably the most important lesson I learned, it truly takes a village to raise a child.  I realize that this is about as cliche' as cliche' can be, but there is a reason for that.  It is true.  Together we, educators, students, and parents need to work together to ensure the success of our Royal Knight Scholars.
