About me

Education

My Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering has all been obtained from Adamson University, Manila, Philippines. I received my Certificate of Academic Requirements for MA. Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Enverga University Institute of Graduate Studies and Research and my Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Universidad de Dagupan. I passed the Professional Board Examination for Teachers in 1987. My Professional Educator’s Certification and Teaching License currently includes the States of South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Mississippi for Middle Grades Mathematics 5-9. I am a member of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).



Experience

I have been teaching for more than 37 years now. I started teaching here at Royal Live Oaks Academy in 2014. During my teaching career, I became a Finalist for 2010 VIF International Educator of the Year, an awardee of 2012 MLDA Teacher of the Year , a recipient of 2015 and 2017 South Carolina Educator Value-Added Assessment System (EVAAS) LEVEL 5 Teacher for both Math 7th and 8th Grade. I was also selected as the 2022 RLOA Middle School Teacher of the Year.

I am happily married to Aileen who also works here at RLOA and we are blessed with 3 children, Aila -an Accounting graduate, Alyanna, a Registered Nurse and Airo Miguel, a High School  student. We also have a beautiful Goldendoodle puppy named Charlotte. I enjoy walking, swimming, biking, and playing badminton with my family during my free time.
