Song Analysis

We are going to learn about the life and music of 1960's-1970's-1980's performing and song writing legend, Joni Mitchell and her most well known song, Big Yellow Taxi.

I have included 2 versions of this song.
(1) youtube version of Joni singing. This is the original studio recording released in 1969, and
(2) a version produced by one of my 16 year old private, music, composition students and me over Christmas Break. She is singing all 6 vocal lines some of which are not in Joni's version and I am playing all the instruments along with automating the final mix.

Also included are the words for you to read when necessary and a blank document for you to do today's assignment.

For this assignment, you will google Joni Mitchell and write a short biography of her life. The biography must be IN YOUR OWN WORDS. If you copy and paste any part of what you turn in, I will not accept any of it. PLUS YOU WILL NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO REDO IT.
