SPED Para Professional

Hello !

My name is Andrea Hamilton, I'm a SPED Para-Professional here at Royal Live Oaks Academy for the school year 2025 -2026. I am excited about my position here at Royal Live Oaks, as I look forward to utilizing my gift to its full potentials. I attended Limestone College and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Social Work the year of 2013. 

 

I worked as a Child Service Professional for 8 years, a method of changing behavior by using techniques based on learning principles like operant conditioning. It involves reinforcing desired behaviors and reducing or eliminating unwanted behaviors through the use of consequences. As I embark on this journey as a SPED Para-Professional, I believe that our children can and will achieve their goals with the support and guidance from our amazing SPED team here at Royal Live Oaks. Over the years, I've applied myself to engaging with a variety of trainings and tools to acquire knowledge and understanding of particular skills needed to be more productive as a SPED Para - Preprofessional here at Royal Live Oaks Academy.

 

A positive outlook is a great start to a new school year. As I resume my responsibilities as a SPED Para-Professional for the school year 2025-2026, I look forward to an even more better school year with such amazing team players within our SPED department, as we continue to grow. My primary responsibilities are making learning opportunities accessible to all students and helping the teacher with classroom management.

I will continue to provide instructional support, student support and other duties as my position plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, prompting them to reach their full potentials.
