SPED Para Professional
Hello everyone,
My name is Ammi B. Israel, aka Andrea Hamilton, and I am excited to continue servicing as a Special Education (SPED) Paraprofessional supporting both Middle and High school students. It is truly a privilege to be part of a school community that is committed to helping every student learn, grow, and succeed.
I graduated from Limestone College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Social Work. Before becoming a SPED Paraprofessional, I worked for eight years as a Child Service Professional specializing in Behavioral Modification. In that role, I supported children by using evidence - based behavior management strategies that reinforce positive behaviors while teaching appropriate replacement behaviors. This experience strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships with assigned child(ren) / parent(s), encourages student growth, and create supportive learning environments.
As I continue this journey as a SPED Paraprofessional, I believe that every student has unique strengths and the ability to succeed when given patience, encouragement, consistency, and the right support. My goal is to help students develop confidence, independence, and the skills they need to reach their individual goals while working collaboratively with teachers, families, and the school community.
This school year, I look forward to partnering with teachers, staff, families, and our students to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment where everyone feels valued and supported. I know there will be opportunities to learn from one another, and I am excited to contribute my experience while continuing to grow professionally.
Thank you for your warm welcome. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with growth, collaboration, and success for all of our students.
