Meet the Teacher

I am Amelia Tomlinson. I am a lover of books! I was given the name Amelia after a character from one of my mom’s favorite novels, Christoph von Schmid’s “Basket of Flowers”.  I am not sure of the meaning my mom associated with my name, but I have come to accept and endeavor to live out the meaning “hard working and industrious”.  As a result, in everything I do, I strive to attend to it with dedication and integrity.

I am married. My husband and I enjoy spending time at the beach, hanging out with family and friends, and exploring new places.  I also enjoy reading, and shopping.

This is my second year serving on the RLOACS middle school team. I will be serving in the area of English Language Arts. I have been serving in K-12 education for over 24 years.  However, this is my 10th year serving in South Carolina.  My main areas of training are Literacy Education and Elementary-Middle Education.

I am looking forward to the year ahead.  I am excited to meet and collaborate with students, parents, staff and other stakeholders.  It is my hope that as we engage in the rigors of the curriculum, we will grow together, excel and have fun!  Let us make it a great year, as we live out the theme "One Team, One Mission, Every Student, Every Day"

Let's Go Royal Knights!
