7th/8th Grade Music

This class will pick up instruction where we left off last year. This class will begin with a study of the early giants of jazz. Many of these artists are unknown by the general public. Musicians such as: Buddy Bolden, Kid Ory and Joe Oliver just to name a few. This class will cover jazz until it turns political, around the year 1954.

The second project titled: New Technologies for a New Generation. In this project, we will discuss how technologies such as microphones, speakers, recording and radio broadcasting.

This class will also learn the basics of guitar playing and tablature reading of basic, one-line melodies.
